Places of Interest

Bandstand

Our iconic bandstand is located in the heart of Golders Hill Park. Being a clear landmark, the bandstand makes a great meeting place or a spot to relax and take in the stunning park views.

A series of free concerts and other events take place every summer.

Walled Garden

Golders Hill Park’s mediterranean style walled garden is worthy of National Trust standards we think! Stroll around under the wisteria, amble through winding pathways and admire the plants, or find a bench and sit down with a good book. The place is a perfect haven from city stress. The walled garden dates originally from the mid-18th century, before Golders Hill became a public park in 1898.

Pergola & Hill Garden

Golders Hill Park’s charming Pergola and Hill Garden will transport you to another place and time. A popular haunt for photographers, Instagrammers and romantic couples, it’s worth a trip to Golders Green in itself to see this victorian marvel. The wisteria covered structure can be walked upon all the way around, ending with a spiral staircase. The pergola was built in the early 1900s on land purchased by Lord Leverhulme.

The Water Garden

Golders Hill Park has no shortage of quiet spots for contemplation in peaceful nature. The water garden can be found down the slope from the zoo. Walk across a bridge and admire the pond and tropical plants, take a seat on one of the benches and relax.

Activities for Families & Kids

Golders Hill Park Zoo enclosure

Golders Hill Park includes a small outside zoo, housing exotic birds such as egrets and kookaburras, and a range of animals from ring-tailed lemurs to wallabies. This hidden gem makes the park a really special place for families wanting a day out with the kids. All free of charge.

Deer enclosure

Golders Hill Park’s deer enclosure brings a peaceful atmosphere to the park, where you can see fallow deer grazing in a semi-natural environment. TIP – You can even walk around the fence for a secluded walk, where you can observe the deer closer.

The Stumpery

Golders Hill Park’s ‘stumpery’ is a secret trail that you might miss if you didn’t know about it. See the map at the top of this page for its location. This shady trail under tree canopy is a fun place to take kids. Upturned tree stumps have created artistic natural forms which line the trail. The place is teaming with curious squirrels who will often follow you along!

Play Area & Picnic spot

Golders Hill Park has an excellent playground and play area with a variety of climbing frames and swings. There are also picnic tables surrounded by pine trees, making it a beautiful spot to have lunch.

Butterfly House

Golders Hill Park has a dedicated Butterfly house, situated by the duck pond and walled garden. Sadly it is currently closed until further notice.
