Who We Are

We are a network of motivated locals who have come together to improve Golders Green and grow our community. Our team includes artists, filmmakers, architects and history buffs, all with a common interest in making Golders a thriving cultural centre.

How did we get here?

In accordance with their Entrepreneurial Strategy of 2015, the London Borough of Barnet facilitated the creation of Town Teams to explore, propose and deliver solutions to problems – as instructed by local people. While the Council maintained a direct involvement in their development, Town Teams (TTs) are eventually guided to becoming independent and self-sufficient entities.

Formed in late 2022, the Golders Green Town Team (GGTT) is by some margin the youngest in the Borough. However, thanks in part to Barnet’s association with the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) earlier this year (for which we hosted a series of events celebrating the area), we have managed to establish ourselves as a creative, resourceful and passionate group of locals.

In summer 2023 we organised ourselves into separate work-stream subgroups, each with a specific focus that represents the interests of its members: Greening, Arts & Culture, Business, Digital Media & Comms, and Security.

We are currently moving into the next phase of our development towards complete autonomy and independence from Barnet. A commitment has been made to attain the status of a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) over the coming year.
